Technology-powered financial disclosure prep for family law

Stop asking clients what they spent on groceries. Start building the disclosure.

FamilyLedger turns bank and credit card statements into a complete New Jersey Case Information Statement. Clients connect accounts or upload statements. Our technology extracts and classifies every transaction. An attorney reviews and approves every number before anything is filed — nothing here files itself.

Before

Financial disclosures are built on guesswork

  • Clients try to reconstruct a year of spending from memory, rounding numbers that end up on a sworn court filing.
  • Paralegals spend dozens of hours a case sorting hundreds of statement PDFs and hand-typing figures into the CIS.
  • Attorneys sign off on a document they can't fully verify line by line — because there's no time to.
After

The disclosure builds itself from real records

  • Clients connect accounts or upload statements — no more reconstructing spending from memory.
  • Our technology extracts and classifies every transaction against CIS categories automatically.
  • Every number on the filed disclosure traces back to the statement it came from.

How it works

From statements to a filed disclosure, in four steps

  1. 1Client

    Connect accounts or upload statements

The client links their bank and credit card accounts, or uploads PDF statements directly. Then they answer roughly 40 targeted questions — only the ones our technology genuinely can't infer from the data — instead of the usual 400-question generic intake form.

  2. 2Technology

Extract, classify, and flag what's missing

Our technology reads every transaction, classifies it against CIS expense categories, and cross-checks the evidence for gaps. This is the Missing Document Engine at work: “We found monthly payments to American Express but no AmEx statements. Please upload your AmEx statements.” It infers what's missing from the transactions themselves — not a generic checklist.

  3. 3Paralegal & Attorney

    Review, edit, approve

The paralegal and attorney review every auto-classified line. Anything can be edited. Nothing moves forward without sign-off — technology assists, the lawyer decides.

  4. 4Court

    File the completed disclosure

An attorney-approved Case Information Statement, ready to file — built on transactions, not memory.

One shared case. Two very different jobs.

Clients answer a few questions and connect their accounts. Attorneys review what our technology classified and approve every line. Nothing moves to the disclosure without a human sign-off.

Why FamilyLedger

Built for financial disclosures, not generic intake

Missing Document Engine

Infers what's missing from transaction evidence, not a generic checklist. Recurring payments to a card issuer with no matching statement on file get flagged by name, automatically.

Provenance by design

Every number on the disclosure traces back to a document, a transaction, a calculation, a client answer, or an attorney edit. Fully auditable, end to end.

Smart Question Engine

About 40 targeted questions instead of roughly 400 generic ones — and only when our technology genuinely can't infer the answer from the client's own records.

Technology assists, lawyer decides

Every value is editable. Nothing is filed automatically. Human sign-off is mandatory before any disclosure leaves the platform.

Real transactions in. An attorney-approved disclosure out.

FamilyLedger builds NJ Case Information Statements today — every state's financial disclosure form is the roadmap.
